Welcome to the Harrogate u3a! We hope you will quickly find new interests, re-kindle existing ones, learn something new, teach us something different and find new friends!
Harrogate u3a is a group run by members for its members. Our aim is to draw talent and experience of all our members to provide opportunities for people no longer in full-time work to take part in all sorts of different activities and learning opportunities.

So what is there to do? We currently have over 1000 members and about 70 groups. These range from bridge to walking, from badminton to wine appreciation, from country dancing to painting with all sorts in between! We are always keen for new groups to open, so do let us know if there is something you would like to set up. Sometimes there is a waiting list for the most popular groups so we are always keen for additional, similar groups to be set up. Please have a look at our Groups page for more details.
There are also Members' Talks with a range of different speakers, coffee mornings and other social events which we hope give members a chance to meet together and to become involved with what is going on locally.
Our parent organisation is a national charity - the Third Age Trust - and the local group is managed by a Committee of Trustees.
There is an annual Membership fee. The monies are used to cover our running costs including monies paid to our parent organisation - there are no staff paid locally. Please see our Membership page for full details.
We try to keep members up to date with what is happening via this website, our Facebook posts, and regular editions of a newsletter. We also have an annual publication, Stray News, which gives a lively overview of what the groups have been up to. See below for the latest issues.
For further information please see our Contacts & Committee page where you will find useful contact information.
Look forward to meeting you soon!
