Our U3A depends on volunteers without whom it would cease to exist. Here are roles that are currently vacant or will be vacant in the near future:

Chair (from 1st November)

Our chairperson is the figurehead for Harrogate u3a members and the outside world. Duties include running the committee meetings (usually 6-8 weeks apart) and working with our regional and national organisations. You have the opportunity to influence strategy and make a wide range of contacts. Contact Chair

Vice Chair

The role of the Vice Chair is to take over duties if the Chair is absent. This includes, but is not limited to: answering enquiries, chairing committee meetings, and hosting events. If you are interested in becoming the Chairperson in the future, this is the ideal position. Contact Chair

Membership Secretary

The Membership Secretary is responsible for processing membership applications and renewals, and keeping our member records up to date. You will work closely with several of the other Committee members, for example at renewal events, or perhaps preparing membership materials to give to prospective members. Contact Chair

New Member Secretary

Would you like to meet new people and welcome them to Harrogate u3a? Working with the Membership Secretary you will make sure our new members have all the information they need to enjoy their membership, and to contribute to Harrogate u3a. Please contact Chair

Social Activities Organiser

Can you run a successful social event? If you have organisation skills, imagination, and an ability to work in a team then you would enjoy the challenge of arranging social events throughout the year that are open to all Harrogate u3a members. Please contact Chair

Social Events Volunteers

We are always looking for people to help with refreshments and Greeters at the members' talks. If you would like to help please contact Social Activities

Website Team member

If you would like to help with the maintenance and future improvement of the Harrogate u3a website, please contact Webmaster. You don't need coding skills, just an eye for detail and a disciplined approach. We use WordPress, one of the most popular web publishing tools, and there will be plenty of help for beginners.
