Our U3A depends on volunteers without whom it would cease to exist. Here are roles that are currently vacant or will be vacant in the near future:

Chair (from 1st November)

In common with other community groups, someone needs to keep the local ship on course, and provide the link to the national governing body. Our chairperson acts as our figurehead to members and the outside world, and attempts to herd cats at our committee meetings (usually 6-8 weeks apart). And brings the biscuits. Contact Chair

Vice Chair

The role of the Vice Chair is to take over duties if the Chair is absent. This includes, but is not limited to: answering enquiries, chairing committee meetings, and hosting events. This position provides experience of the u3a organisation at a regional and national level, with opportunities to influence strategy and make a wide range of contacts. Contact Chair

New Member Secretary (from 1st August)

Committee Members

From time to time we have vacancies for committee members. Please contact the Chair or any committee member if you would like to join us or require any more information.

Website Team member

If you would like to help with the maintenance and future improvement of the Harrogate u3a website, please contact the webmaster. You don't need coding skills, just an eye for detail and a disciplined approach. We use WordPress, one of the most popular web publishing tools, and there will be plenty of help for beginners.
