This section is for Group Leaders. Here we hope to give you quick access to information you might need. Please contact Group Coordinator if you could not find what you wanted via this page.

Each group needs to have a leader, but the scope of group leadership is very flexible. Group leadership can be shared, and the group leader does not need to be an expert on the topic.
The leader is the main point of contact for the group and would usually be the person who:
- responds to people who would like to join the group
- maintains the group membership list in Beacon (training provided)
- is kept updated with relevant information from the Committee.
If you are thinking of starting a new group, the Group Coordinator will help you get the group off the ground. There is lots of help available so please get in touch.

Risk Assessment checklists
We aim to take a common-sense approach to risk assessment. Each group needs to understand their venue, so that members can use it safely and the group is prepared for incidents.
Because our activities vary so much, there are tailored checklists below. Pick the one that sounds closest to your situation and you should find it has useful prompts for you to consider, without overloading you with irrelevant questions.
Once completed, make the risk assessment available to group members, not forgetting those who subsequently join your group.
Defibrillators
The risk assessment forms have a space for the location of your venue's nearest defibrillator. You can use the website Defibfinder, as recommended by the British Heart Foundation, to research defibrillator locations, but the advice is always to phone 999 in an emergency rather than rely on this website.
Other forms
All policies and procedures are on the Membership page.
